Job Summary/Basic Functions

Job duties would be both clinical and administrative as follows:
• Prepare clinic spaces for patients.
• Provide rehab tech support for faculty clinic practice.
• Scan and fax clinic documents to referral sources for student clinic.
• Clean clinic spaces and equipment after patient sessions.
• Launder sheets and pillowcases used in clinic practice, student labs, and student competencies.
• Clean and test modality equipment that needs regular attention, i.e. splint pans, cold pack machine, hot pack machine, and power wheelchairs.
• Organize equipment and supplies; complete inventories of materials.
• Assist faculty in setting up and breaking down student lab experiences.
• Assist department coordinator in setting up and breaking down from events.
• Assist department coordinator with Information Sessions for potential applicants to the program.
• Assist faculty in preparation and organization of teaching materials.
• Assist with creation of a bi-annual OT alumni newsletter.
• Assist with errands, filing, scanning, answering phones, making phone calls, making copies, creating folders, labels, tidying up, records storage and maintenance, surplus inventory and coordination for pickup.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Other Education if applicable: Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in the New Orleans area

Eligibility for a student worker position requires being enrolled at least part-time and in good standing at an accredited high school, junior college, college or university, or a vocational-technical school.

Established in 1970, by the Board of Supervisors, the School of Allied Health Professions comprises both undergraduate and graduate programs. Baccalaureate degrees (Bachelor of Science) are offered in Cardiopulmonary Science and Medical Laboratory Science. The Department of Communication Disorders offers a Master of Communication Disorders degree in Speech and Language Pathology and a Doctor of Audiology (AuD) in hearing. The Department of Occupational Therapy offers the Master of Occupational Therapy Degree, the Department of Physical Therapy offers a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, and the Department of Counseling offers the Master of Health Sciences degree. The SAHP also includes the Human Development Center, which provides programs to increase the capacity of healthcare providers for individuals with developmental and acquired disabilities. The SAHP provides multidisciplinary outpatient services to achieve diversity of patient objectives that include diagnostic, therapeutic, and restorative services to enable patients to achieve as much functional, social, and occupational independence as is reasonably possible.
