Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Louisiana State University - Health, School of Medicine, Department of Surgery, is seeking an Endocrine Surgical Oncologist to join its faculty within the Division of Surgical Oncology/Neuroendocrine at LCMC Health – East Jefferson General Hospital. This position offers an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and professional accomplishments.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced expertise in the management of endocrine surgical oncology patients and a strong commitment to academic medicine. Responsibilities will include active participation in the education and mentorship of residents and medical students, as well as engagement in scholarly activities.
Successful applicants will have a collaborative approach to patient care, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to clinical excellence and accessibility. A track record of teamwork, professionalism, and academic productivity is highly desirable.
In addition, there are opportunities for leadership within both the Department of Surgery and the affiliated hospital system for candidates with demonstrated experience in administration and program development.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education: MD or equivalent
Other Education if applicable: Completion of fellowship in endocrine surgical oncology before hire date
Certifications or Licenses Required: BE/BC (or equivalent) in general surgery; Licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana and credentialed with all required entities before date of hire
