The School of Medicine of the LSU Health Sciences Center in Baton Rouge is accepting applications for the position of RN Clinical Trials Coordinator. The position is based at LSU Health Baton Rouge’s campus. Under the direction of the Research Department Manager and Director of Research, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting and executing clinical research activities, including patient screening, enrollment, data collection, and study-related procedures in compliance with protocols and regulatory standards. The position involves direct patient interaction, accurate documentation, and coordination of follow-up care while ensuring data integrity and billing compliance. Responsibilities also include handling and processing laboratory specimens and maintaining strict adherence to research and safety guidelines. The individual collaborates with a multidisciplinary team and participates in training and study start-up activities. Strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced research environment are essential.
Minimum Qualifications:
• BSN or RN certification by date of hire, valid license as a Registered Nurse in Louisiana
• Phlebotomy, IV certification, and CPR certification required
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• One (1) year of prior clinical research experience and/or clinical nursing experience
• Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), clinical trials, and regulatory processes
• Experience working in an academic medical center or research-focused environment
