Job Summary/Basic Functions
The School of Medicine at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) in New Orleans is seeking a postdoctoral research fellow to investigate the role of signaling factors and molecules, including the angiotensin-converting enzyme type2 (ACE2), serotonin, and the brain- derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), in linking neuroplasticity with vasculature in the adult rodent brain. The research will focus on blood pressure regulation and gene modifications that contribute to neuro-cardiovascular deregulation. Work will involve gene targeting techniques in the central nervous system (such as optogenetics, DREADD), targeting specific neuronal networks involved in inflammation, and employing state-of-the-art approaches, including cell culture, in vivo analysis and FACS.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education: PhD
Required Field of Study: Basic Science, Health Science, or Related Field
