Job Summary/Basic Functions

The LSU Cancer Center is seeking two Research Associate's 1, 2, or 3 (RA1/2/3) to plan, assist, and conduct laboratory experiments and perform general duties including, but not limited to, literature searches for article publication, working with graduate students, supply ordering, and/or managing the day-to-day operations within the lab. The RA1/2/3 will analyze, summarize, and organize collected data together with the Principal Investigator and junior faculty and draft, edit and revise reports and manuscripts for publication in professional journals. The RA1/2/3 will also purchase and/or recommend purchase of lab supplies, reagents and new equipment for research projects.

Successful candidates must be able to work in biocontainment areas requiring compliance with specific protocols with a high degree of self-motivation and possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and/or within a team. Prior bench research experience is highly desired.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor's

Required Field of Study: Basic or Health Science or Related field

Number of years required to perform the job: RA 1 - Zero (0) to three (3) years of experience; RA2 - Three (3) years of experience; RA3 - Five (5) years of experience
