Job Summary/Basic Functions
This is shift work monitoring the LSUHSC-NO energy management system, making rounds to visually inspect building systems and making repairs as assigned.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
At a minimum possession of a 2nd class Stationary Engineer's Certificate for steam boilers and a 2nd class Stationary Engineer's
Certificate for air conditioning.
Must have EPA certification.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must be available for scheduled shift work after regular working hours and during holidays.
Knowledge of the operation, maintenance and repair of energy management systems.
Skill in the operation, maintenance and repair of energy management systems.
Ability to operate, maintain and repair energy management systems. This position is considered an essential personnel position and must be available to respond to campus emergencies after normal business hours and during campus closures.

The employee may be assigned to the emergency team that remains on campus and or evacuates to an off-site location during emergency events and expected to return to work after severe weather event or other emergencies. When personnel are requested to return by the Facilities Leadership.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Three years of experience or training in the operation or maintenance of large stationary engines or mechanical equipment.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
For those positions in which incumbents will be working with and handling refrigerants, possession of an appropriate EPA refrigerant recycling and recovery certification for technicians will be required (as required under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act, 1990).
Certifications or Licenses Preferred: Possession of a 2nd class license in steam boilers and air conditioning.
