Minimum Qualifications

Required Education:  No minimum required

Number of years required to perform the job: 1

Type of experience required to perform the job: HIC1-One year of experience in administrative services; OR
One year of training in or completion of a business or clerical-related curriculum from a business school or technical institute.

HIC 2-One year of experience in administrative services in a medical setting.

Substitution: HIC 1-Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the required general experience.

 

Special Instructions Summary

  • This is a Civil Service Position
  • Pre-employment Drug testing and Criminal Background check are required
  • This position will require selected applicant to be in a probationary status for at least 6 months.

 

Duties and responsibilities included, but not limited to:

  • Research and update files with current patient information. 
  • Conducts in-depth interviews to complete and/or update information. 
  • Verify Medicaid eligibility and research information to file pre-authorizations and claims for payment.
  • Assist with Medicaid and third-party insurance.
  • Collect and accurately post payments to the proper clinic departments. 
  • Balance daily collections and secure for the next day's deposit.
  • Send necessary correspondence to patients for returned checks and update patient's record accordingly.
  • Assist with the process of patient refunds.
  • Administrative task as needed

Compensation: There is a starting rate for the

HIC 2-$16.37 per hour

HIC 1-$15.30 per hour.

Pay is dependent upon applicants’ qualifications.

There is an additional $1.00 Longevity Pay for hours worked only.

Under the supervision of the Patient Accounts Manager, this position is responsible for office tasks relating to payment collections for the Patients Accounts Office of LSU School of Dentistry. Collecting payments from patients, updating patient charts and accounts, and the daily balancing of these collections, assisting with the processing of third-party insurance and Medicaid.

LSUNO Anatomy (NO11010)
The Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in New Orleans is seeking a candidate for an academic faculty position at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor on the Instruction (non-tenure) track. This individual will contribute to the departmental mission in a team teaching oriented environment. The successful candidate will have the ability to immediately instruct in Gross Anatomy. Candidates with experience in cadaveric dissection in a health science center environment will be given prioritized consideration. Expertise in one or more of the following fields is preferred but not required: neuroanatomy, embryology and histology. Applicants must have completed the requirements for a PhD, MD, or DPT by the hire date at the Assistant Professor level, and for higher ranks they should have teaching experience commensurate with the desired rank. Teaching duties may be assigned within the multiple health professional schools of the LSU Health Sciences Center (Medicine, Dentistry, Allied Health and Nursing). We are looking for dedicated educators, participation in educational research is preferred but not required.
