Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Department of Ophthalmology at the LSU Health Sciences Center, School of Medicine in New Orleans is seeking applicants for a faculty position as a Retina subspecialist at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor (non-tenure, clinical track). The successful candidate will be expected to integrate clinical duties with departmental educational programs for medical students, residents and fellows. Engagement in and support of departmental clinical research is preferred. Practice locations are situated in New Orleans.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education: MD or equivalent

Other Education if applicable: Fellowship training in retina

Certifications or Licenses Required: Board certified/board eligible (or equivalent) in Ophthalmology; Licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana and credentialed with all required entities before date of hire

Epidemiology and Pop Health (NO15807)
Louisiana Tumor Registry (LTR) is a population-based cancer registry, that collects and maintains data on cancer diagnosis, type of cancer, treatment, and outcomes. The LTR currently registers approximately 25,000 new cancer cases yearly, tracks over 300,000 cancer patients, and has over half a million (521,074 cases) newly diagnosed cancer cases in the registry database. This position is supported by funding from the Chancellor. Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the employee will analyze cancer data to support data requests and cancer control initiatives, assist with the preparation of statistics for annual publications (monograph, data visualization, cancer one-pagers, etc.), and support the LTR program manager with administrative tasks related to data release.
