Job Summary/Basic Functions
Under general supervision, the Assistant Business Manager (ABM) will provide professional level administrative support for all business aspects and human resource functions of the LSUHSC Cancer Center. The incumbent will be responsible for adhering to all relevant rules, regulations and procedures while driving more efficient processes and maximizing resources in support of the Department of Medicine, School of Medicine, and LSUHSC’s mission. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring that expenditures are within available sources of funds and are appropriate for the projects and source of funding. The incumbent is responsible for implementing and adhering to all relevant rules, regulations, and policies of the University, the State, and the Federal Government as they relate to the administration and financial operations of departmental programs, contracts, grants, and other activities.
The ABM will assist and support the Business Manager and Associate Business Manager with all HR-related processes including but, not limited to, onboarding, visa application submissions, HR records maintenance, department employee relation matters, payroll and leave entry, and day-to-day operational management. The ABM will also create staffing reports for the Associate Director for Administration and assist the Business Manager with monthly account reconciliations, reviewing expenditure reports, and tracking individual faculty spending when requested. All duties must be accomplished with a high degree of independence, timeliness, confidentiality, and initiative.

Required Education: Bachelor's
Required Field of Study: Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related discipline

Type of experience required to perform the job: applicable work experience
Substitution: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline can substitute for required experience;
Bachelor’s degree in other disciplines will be considered with additional 3 years of relevant experience
