Job Summary/Basic Functions
A Research Associate 1, 2, or 3 position is available at the Neuroscience Center of LSU Health Sciences Center to study the mechanisms of aging, synaptic development, and neurodegeneration using Drosophila, mammalian cell culture, and mouse models.
Under the general guidance of the Principal Investigator, the successful candidate will play an integral role in day-to-day laboratory operations while conducting both independent and collaborative research projects. The position also offers opportunities to contribute to the mentoring and training of junior researchers, including undergraduate students.
We are seeking motivated applicants with a strong background in the biological sciences. Prior experience with mammalian cell culture and mouse models is highly preferred. This position provides an excellent environment to develop new technical skills, expand research expertise, and contribute to impactful neuroscience research.

Required Education: Bachelor's
Other Education if applicable:
Required Field of Study: Neuroscience or related field
Number of years required to perform the job: RA 1 - 1 year of experience; RA2 - 3 years of experience; RA3 - 5+ years of experience
Type of experience required to perform the job: Experience in a laboratory setting
Substitution: Master’s degree may substitute for 3 years or a PhD may substitute for 5
