Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Neuroscience Center of Excellence at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans is accepting applications for a Research Associate 1,2 or 3! We are seeking a highly motivated individual to support and conduct research on a project entitled Elovanoids Target Synaptic Protection After Experimental Traumatic Brain Injury (Concussions). Working closely with PI, the successful candidate will investigate the effects of novel lipid mediators (LM) on synaptosomal mitochondrial function by assessing respiration, bioenergetics, and mitochondrial fission/fusion dynamics, as well as additional molecular targets.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor's

Required Field of Study: Neuroscience or related field

Number of years required to perform the job: RA 1 - 1 year of experience; RA2 - 3 years of experience; RA3 - 5+ years of experience

Type of experience required to perform the job: Experience in a laboratory setting

Substitution: Master’s degree may substitute for 3 years or a PhD may substitute for 5 years of experience
