Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Department Coordinator will provide professional level administrative support for all business aspects within the LSU Cancer Center, Department of Interdisciplinary Oncology, and its affiliates including but not limited to day-to-day operational functions, meetings, special events, physician and faculty scheduling, travel, and department related correspondences. The incumbent will be responsible for adhering to all relevant rules, regulations and procedures while driving efficiencies and maximizing resources. All duties will be accomplished with a high degree of independence, timeliness, confidentiality and initiative requiring maturity, diplomacy, and effective communication skills. This work must be performed with a high degree of autonomy, self-initiative, and accountability with considerable focus and an expectation of strong apparent organization and communication skills. The incumbent must have the ability to work in a high-pressure environment and meet stringent deadlines in completing tasks while possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required Education: Bachelor's

Number of years required to perform the job: Two

Type of experience required to perform the job: Work experience

Substitution: Master's degree can substitute for two years of work experience.
