Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Department of Pathology at LSU Health, School of Medicine in New Orleans (LSUHSC-NO) is seeking a faculty member with expertise and fellowship training in Neuropathology who will participate in the Anatomic Pathology service at our major clinical affiliate, University Medical Center in New Orleans (UMC-NO).
Qualified candidates must possess an MD (or equivalent) or MD (or equivalent)/PhD and must be board certified/board eligible (or equivalent) in Anatomic Pathology (AP) or Anatomic/Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) as well as Neuropathology. Appointment will be at the academic rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor (clinical, non-tenure track). Applicants must be fully licensed to practice medicine in the State of Louisiana before start date.

Other Information About the Position
UMC-NO is a 424-bed state-of-the-art academic hospital that opened in August 2015 and is experiencing growth in all services, including neuropathology. The Pathology Laboratory occupies over 40,000 sq. ft. in the Diagnostic and Treatment Tower. As a faculty member, significant participation in diagnostic services is expected, including neuropathology and general surgical pathology, autopsies, and brain examinations. Additional duties will include teaching residents and fellows, and the establishment of collaborative projects of translational research in areas of interest. LSUHSC-NO and UMC-NO are members of the Louisiana Cancer Research Consortium (LCRC). Ample opportunities for collaborative clinically relevant research exist.

Required Education: MD or equivalent
Other Education if applicable: Fellowship training in Neuropathology.
Certifications or Licenses Required: Board certified/board eligible (or equivalent) in Anatomic Pathology (AP) or Anatomic/Clinical Pathology (AP/CP); licensed to practice Medicine in Louisiana and credentialed with all required entities before hire
