Job Summary/Basic Functions
The LSU Health Sciences Center, Department of Medicine, Section of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation in New Orleans, seeks an enthusiastic PM&R physician to join our faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (non-tenure, clinical track). The successful candidate will provide outpatient clinical duties for the Section’s robust clinics, and candidates with strong electrodiagnostic and interventional training and skills are encouraged to apply. Some consult service and/or inpatient rehabilitation staffing may also be required. Academic appointment commensurate with professional experience. This is an excellent opportunity to join our faculty. Experience is preferred, but junior faculty with excellent training should apply.
Other Information About the Position
The Section currently consists of full-time and volunteer faculty and has ACGME-accredited training programs in PM&R, PM&R-Peds, and Pain for approximately 30 trainees. For the Section's robust clinics, candidates must have strong electrodiagnostic skills, and interest in achieving ABEM certification is desirable. Excellent MSK and MSK ultrasound skills are essential. We encourage those who also have Interventional training and skills and eligibility for ACGME Pain Medicine boards to apply. Minimum Qualifications
Required Education: MD or equivalent
Required Field of Study: Internal Medicine / PM&R
Certifications or Licenses Required: ABIM board certified/board eligible (or equivalent) physician; licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana and credentialed with all required entities prior to start date
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications or Licenses Preferred: ABIM board certification/eligibility in Pain Medicine
