Job Summary/Basic Functions

The assistant/associate dean for student affairs provides leadership and operational oversight for the student lifecycle within the College/School, through matriculation, progression, graduation, and post-graduation readiness. This role is responsible for student advising, student conduct and appeals, clinical placement coordination, student engagement, and policy oversight. The assistant/associate dean supervises student affairs personnel and ensures student services and programs are delivered consistently, equitably, and in alignment with institutional, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities
• The assistant/associate dean for student affairs provides direct supervision and leadership for the Student Affairs Coordinator, Honors Committee, and Student Affairs/Recruitment Committee.
Supervisory responsibilities include goal setting, performance management, workflow coordination, professional development, and alignment of unit activities with college and institutional priorities.

Required Education: Master's

Required Field of Study: Appropriate Academic or Professional Field

Number of years required to perform the job: 3

Type of experience required to perform the job: Academic experience; Academic credentials that qualify the applicant for rank of assistant/associate professor or higher

Established in 1970, by the Board of Supervisors, the School of Allied Health Professions comprises both undergraduate and graduate programs. Baccalaureate degrees (Bachelor of Science) are offered in Cardiopulmonary Science and Medical Laboratory Science. The Department of Communication Disorders offers a Master of Communication Disorders degree in Speech and Language Pathology and a Doctor of Audiology (AuD) in hearing. The Department of Occupational Therapy offers the Master of Occupational Therapy Degree, the Department of Physical Therapy offers a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, and the Department of Counseling offers the Master of Health Sciences degree. The SAHP also includes the Human Development Center, which provides programs to increase the capacity of healthcare providers for individuals with developmental and acquired disabilities. The SAHP provides multidisciplinary outpatient services to achieve diversity of patient objectives that include diagnostic, therapeutic, and restorative services to enable patients to achieve as much functional, social, and occupational independence as is reasonably possible.
